This has been dealt with in a support ticket directly (outside of the CloverDX Forum channel).

    Hello Aisling,
as you may know, CloverDX Runtime is one of the architectural layers of CloverDX Designer that is designed to run graphs and subgraphs. You can think of it as a "local CloverDX Server" that is built into the Designer for this purpose. The error message indicates that the underlying layer of the Designer (Eclipse) was not able to connect to this Server (Runtime). As for the root cause of this situation, I would not dare to jump into conclusions right off the bet. Although from past experience, we have seen similar errors when a cyber security tool blocked the internal communication between Eclipse and Runtime (as you can see in the error message, the connection attempt was made to the following URL: http://localhost:57658/clover).
Anyway, to troubleshoot this, I would strongly recommend logging a new ticket directly via our CloverCARE Support portal and provide the items of information below. One of our CloverCARE Support engineers will then take it from there:

    • Try to start the Designer again in order to receive the error message again. Then, go on to harvest the following log files located in the .metadata directory within your workspace:
      - "CloverDX.log"
      - ".log"

    • Please clarify whether this error occurs permanently or intermittently. In other words, has it prevented you from running graphs since the first time it had occurred, or does the Designer sometimes work as expected?

    • Kindly clarify whether this issue is isolated to a single CloverDX Designer instance or whether it is happening to multiple users on different computers.

    • Have there been any security setting changes performed on the machine(s) where CloverDX Designer is running recently? Anything related to antivirus software or firewall?

    Kind regards,
