Does the LDAPWriter support SSL connections?

The documentation only shows an ldap URL, does the LDAPWriter component also support ldaps?

  Hello,
  LDAP components connect to the ldap server with InitialDirContext object, so it accepts all urls, that are accepted by this object. I suppose, that ldaps should work as well as ldap.
